ICP-OES Spectrometers

Inductively Coupled Plasma – Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) is a proven analytical technique used for fast and accurate multi-element analysis. By exciting atoms and ions in a high-temperature argon plasma, ICP-OES measures the characteristic light emitted by elements to determine their concentrations over a wide dynamic range—from trace levels to major components.

ICP-OES is primarily used for liquid samples, which are introduced into the plasma as a fine aerosol through a nebulization system. With optional technologies such as laser ablation or electrothermal vaporization (ETV), solid samples can also be analyzed directly. The technique is valued for its robustness, high sample throughput, and ability to handle complex matrices with high dissolved solids.

Modern ICP-OES systems integrate advanced optics, sensitive detectors, and intelligent software to deliver reliable results for routine quality control as well as research and industrial applications.

SPECTROGREEN – ICP-OES Analyzer

The SPECTROGREEN ICP-OES utilizes innovative Dual Side-On Interface (DSOI) technology, providing significantly higher sensitivity than conventional radial systems—without the complexity or cost of dual-view configurations. It is an excellent choice for laboratories seeking performance and simplicity.

Key Applications of ICP-OES

Environmental & Water Analysis

ICP-OES is widely used to analyze drinking water, wastewater, soils, sediments, and sludges. It supports regulatory compliance by detecting major elements and trace heavy metals, even in challenging high-salinity or high-TDS samples.

Food & Agriculture

The technique is applied to soil and fertilizer analysis to support crop optimization, as well as food and beverage testing to quantify nutrients and detect toxic elements, ensuring product safety and quality.

Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences

The technique is used for elemental testing of raw materials and formulations, supporting impurity monitoring, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

Geology & Mining

ICP-OES supports mineral exploration, ore characterization, and process control by determining elemental composition in rocks, soils, and concentrates. It is also used in metal recovery and recycling applications.

Petroleum & Petrochemicals

In the oil and gas industries, ICP-OES is used for elemental analysis of fuels, lubricants, additives, and wear metals in used oils—supporting quality control and predictive maintenance programs.

Chemical & Industrial Production

ICP-OES plays a key role in quality control of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products across chemical manufacturing, fertilizers, batteries, and inorganic materials, even in high-matrix samples such as brines.
